Dealers will inspect and repair the decklid wiring harness and/or replace the rearview camera.

Ford Motor Co. (Ford) is recalling about 330,784 2015-2017 Mustang vehicles because the rearview camera wiring may be loose or damaged, which can result in a blank or distorted image. A rearview camera that displays a blank or distorted image can reduce the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash (NHTSA Recall Notice, No. 22V082, Report receipt date: February 16, 2022).

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and repair the decklid wiring harness and/or replace the rearview camera, as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed March 7, 2022. Second letters will be sent once the remedy is available.

Contact information. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S06. Owners also may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
