Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling an estimated 665 2022 Audi Q3 vehicles that did not receive a software update under NHTSA Recall No. 21V825 (Audi's number for the recall is 91CR). A software error may prevent the rearview image from initially displaying when the vehicle begins to reverse. Consequently, the vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 111, Rear Visibility. A rearview camera that does not display an image reduces the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash (NHTSA Recall Notice, No. 22V064, Report receipt date: February 7, 2022).

Remedy. Dealers will update the infotainment unit parameters, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 8, 2022.

Contact information. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for the recall is 91DF. Owners also may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
