Daimler Vans USA, LLC (DVUSA) is recalling an estimated 28,743 Mercedes-Benz Metris vehicles because the brake fluid reservoir may be incorrectly mounted, which could allow it to detach. Consequently, the detached brake fluid reservoir can leak brake fluid, increasing the risk of a crash (NHTSA Recall Notice, No. 22V066, Report receipt date: February 8, 2022).
Remedy. Dealers will inspect and repair the brake fluid reservoir mounting, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 28, 2022.
