Global Daily Tax News, Vietnam To Streamline Tax-Related Processes, (Jun 26, 2025)
Vietnam has issued a Decree to streamline tax-related processes starting July 1, 2025, including in relation to granting advance pricing agreements.
Decree 122/2025/ND-CP revises the internal procedures for the processing of tax filings, the performance of tax-related tasks, and decisions regarding penalties. It also aims to remove duplicative reporting requirements.
For bilateral and multilateral advance pricing agreements, the Decree stipulates that the Minister of Finance will be empowered with the final decision on whether to launch APA negotiations, whether to conclude a negotiated APA, and the date on which the APA should begin to apply, rather than approval being processed at higher levels of government. APAs will continue to be negotiated with taxpayers and foreign authorities by the federal tax authority.
