Global Daily Tax News, Belgium Releases Technical Specification For GloBE Returns, (Jun 26, 2025)
Following on from the release of the draft minimum top-up tax form for filing under Belgium's Pillar Two tax regime in April, the tax agency has issued technical guidance on data to be included within the submitted XML files.
Specifically, the agency has released the XML Schema Definition (XSD), establishing rules regarding how the required XML document should be structured and the data that should be included. It will also be used to verify that the XML files submitted comply with the rules.
Returns under Pillar Two are intended to be harmonized, to support the automatic exchange of information between tax agencies. The Pillar Two framework, developed by the OECD, is intended to ensure that multinational enterprises and large domestic groups pay a corporate income tax rate of at least 15 percent on their profits in each jurisdiction in which they do business.
