Taiwan's Ministry of Finance has confirmed that the nation's individual income tax season will begin on May 1, 2026.

The statutory deadline is typically May 31, 2026. However, as this date falls on a Sunday, the extended deadline is June 1, 2026.

Separately, the tax agency has highlighted that real estate tax payments (house tax) should also be paid during this May 1 to June 1, 2026, period. Payment should be made based on tax assessments drawn up by local governments.

The tax agency said: "If taxpayers have lost or failed to receive their payment notices, they may apply for re-issuance from the local tax collection authorities in the same district where the house is located. Taxpayers may also use their Citizen Digital Certificate, Ministry of Economic Affairs Certification Authority (MOEACA) IC card, financial certificate, registered NHI card, or TW FidO to log into the local tax online filing website for inquiries and payments."
