Romania’s National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP) has published its activity report for 2025 that includes the ANSPDCP's activities across several key areas, including the number of investigations carried out, the number of complaints submitted, and enforcement actions.

In 2025, the ANSPDCP received a total of 12,297 complaints that resulted in 488 investigations and 105 fines, it said. There were also 145 warnings applied and 182 orders issued for corrective measures.

The security incidents “mainly concerned the loss of confidentiality of personal data, unauthorized access to them, including in the online environment, failure to comply with the principles of "privacy by design" and "privacy by default", unauthorized access to operators' IT systems and unauthorized disclosure of personal data,” it said.
