The firm has received six reports of the cameras exploding or catching fire.

Wyze Labs has recalled about 321,360 Solar Cam Pan security cameras because the assembly instructions can lead users to accidentally puncture the lithium-ion battery, causing it to rapidly overheat. This poses a risk of serious injury or property damage from fire and burn hazards (CPSC Recall Notice, No. 26-524 (June 4, 2026)).

Incidents and injuries. Wyze has received 13 consumer reports of overheating incidents, including six cases in which the cameras exploded or caught fire. Six minor burn injuries have also been reported.

Product description. The recall involves Wyze Solar Cam Pan units, which are wire-free outdoor security cameras powered by lithium-ion batteries. The devices feature motorized pan-and-tilt functionality and include an integrated solar panel accessory. The cameras were sold in white. The model number, WYZESCPWH, appears on the back of the unit.

The products were sold at Home Depot and Micro Center stores, as well as online through Wyze’s website, Temu, Amazon, B2B Renew, Inc., ReturnPro, and Best Buy between October 2025 and April 2026 for approximately $80.

Remedy. Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled cameras immediately and determine whether their device is affected by visiting the company’s recall website. The firm is offering affected consumers a choice of a free replacement camera with a solar panel accessory, a full refund, or a gift card equal to the original purchase price. Consumers must attest to proper disposal of the device, which must be handled in accordance with local and state regulations due to the fire risks associated with lithium-ion batteries.

Customer contact. For more information, customers may contact Wyze Labs toll free at 888-832-7226 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT Monday through Friday; by email at [email protected]; or online at http://www.wyze.com/SCPrecall or https://www.wyze.com and click on “Recalls” at the bottom of the page.
