    The Vietnamese Government has decided to establish the country's first free trade zone in the eastern city of Da Nang.

    The Vietnamese Government has decided to establish the country's first free trade zone in the eastern city of Da Nang.

    The Government said the zone will cover about 1,881 hectares. The Government is seeking to establish Da Nang as a transhipment hub and attract companies engaged in high-tech industries, in innovation, and in online ventures.

    The Government is considering the creation of an International Finance Center in the city.

    "With its strategic location near major Asian financial hubs, modern infrastructure, dynamic business environment, and high quality of life, Da Nang is well-positioned to become a regional financial node," the Government said.
