The FCC’s Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau has proposed dismissing 24 mooted or outdated petitions filed between 2003 and 2023 that “have gone without advocacy for several years,” it said in a public notice released yesterday in CG dockets 02-278 (rules implementing the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991), 05-338 (addressing the Junk Fax Implementation Act of 2005), and 17-59 (advanced methods to target and eliminate unlawful robocalls).

Among the petitioners whose filings are implicated are RingCentral, Inc., Anthem, Inc., the American Bankers Association, and the National Association of Chain Drug Stores. Responses to the proposal will be due 45 days after publication of a notice in the Federal Register.
