Global Daily Tax News, Panama Freezes Tax IDs Of Numerous Companies, (Oct 2, 2025)
Panama's Economy and Finance Ministry has confirmed the suspension of tens of thousands of taxpayer tax identification numbers, after the taxpayers in question failed to correct inconsistencies between the information contained in the Single Tax Registry and the Panamanian Public Registry database.
Suspension of a taxpayer's RUC prevents the taxpayer from completing any procedures or applications through the e-Tax 2.0 platform.
Panamanian authorities have issued Resolution No. 201-7109 of September 1, 2025, which mandates the publication of information about taxpayers affected by the suspension. There are two lists: taxpayers with duplicate RUCs are listed in Annex I, while Annex II features legal entities whose RUCs are not identified in the Public Registry.
"With this action, the DGI reaffirms its commitment to fiscal transparency and the cleanup of the Single Taxpayer Registry, ensuring the reliability and up-to-date nature of tax information for the benefit of the country's tax system," the Ministry said.
