David Chiappetta has rejoined Perkins Coie as a partner in its San Francisco office, the law firm has announced. He previously prosecuted competition cases on behalf of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, Australia’s competition authority, while at the Melbourne, Australia firm of Corrs Chambers Westgarth.

Chiappetta represents clients in complex commercial litigation, including antitrust and unfair business practice claims, class actions, contract and partnership disputes, intellectual property matters, professional responsibility claims, and matters involving California’s environmental policies. He possesses extensive experience counseling clients on antitrust and trade regulation issues, and has represented clients before federal and state law enforcement agencies regarding merger, acquisition, joint venture, pricing and supply policy, and investigation matters.

“We’re very excited that David is rejoining us here in San Francisco,” said Barbara Schussman, Office Managing Partner of Perkins Coie’s San Francisco office. “David’s 20-plus years of antitrust, consumer protection and litigation experience are a great fit for us locally and nationally, and his recent enforcement experience working with the Australian government is an ideal complement to his substantial defense experience.”

Chiappetta received his J.D. from the University of Washington in 1994, and a B.A. from Williamette University in 1989.

Perkins Coie is an international law firm with over 900 attorneys located in offices in Anchorage, Bellevue, Boise, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Madison, New York, Palo Alto, Phoenix, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington, D.C., Beijing, Shanghai, and Taipei.
