The company has received 54 reports of wire bristles detaching from the brushes, including three reports of consumers who sought medical treatment after ingesting the bristles.

Conair LLC has expanded its recall of Cuisinart metal wire bristle grill brushes to include about 1.9 million additional units, bringing the total number recalled to about 3.6 million brushes. Small metal wire bristles can detach from the brushes and remain on grills or food, posing an ingestion hazard that can cause serious internal injuries and may require surgery. Conair previously recalled about 1.7 million grill brushes in July 2026 (CPSC Recall Notice, No. 26-717 (Aug. 27, 2026)).

Incidents and injuries. Conair is aware of at least 54 reports and reviews involving wire bristles detaching from the grill brushes. The company also received three reports of consumers swallowing metal bristles and seeking medical treatment to remove the bristles from their digestive tract or throat.

Product description. The recall expansion covers Cuisinart metal wire bristle grill brushes with black plastic, stainless steel, and wood handles, as well as additional Cuisinart wire bristle grill brushes sold individually and in sets prior to 2020. A complete list of affected brushes is available on CPSC’s website.

The brushes were sold at Walmart, Burlington, TJ Maxx, and Ross stores, and online through Amazon and Cuisinart.com, from June 2009 through March 2026 for between $8 and $20. The products were imported by Conair LLC of Stamford, Connecticut, and manufactured in China.

Remedy. Consumers should stop using the recalled grill brushes immediately. Conair is offering either a full refund or a credit for use at Cuisinart.com equal to the full refund amount plus an additional 20% of the cash refund value. Consumers will be asked to discard the recalled grill brushes as part of the remedy process.

Customer contact. Consumers can contact Conair toll-free at 888-520-1304 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday. Additional information is available online at https://www.recallrtr.com/grillbrushes or www.cuisinart.com and click on “Product Recalls” at the bottom of the page.
