INIU has announced a recall of about 210,000 portable power banks due to fire and burn hazards. The lithium-ion batteries in the affected units can overheat and ignite, posing serious safety risks (CPSC Recall Notice, No. 26-135 (Dec. 5, 2025)).
Incidents and injuries. INIU has received 15 reports of the product overheating, including 11 fires that caused three minor burn injuries and property damage exceeding $380,000.
Product description. The recall involves INIU 10,000mAh portable power banks, model BI-B41. These devices feature a black or blue case with the INIU logo and a paw-print LED light on the front. The model and serial number are printed on the back at the bottom. Only units with serial numbers 000G21, 000H21, 000I21, and 000L21 are included in the recall.
The recalled products were sold on Amazon.com between August 2021 and April 2022 for approximately $18. They were manufactured in China by Shenzhen Topstar Industry Co., Ltd.
Remedy. Consumers are urged to stop using the power banks immediately and visit INIU’s recall page to verify their product and register for a full refund. The company advises against disposing of the recalled batteries in regular trash or recycling bins due to fire risks. Instead, they should be taken to a municipal household hazardous waste collection center after the center confirms acceptance of recalled lithium-ion batteries.
