    Caribbean territory Barbados has extended a value-added tax relief measure for the supply of electricity.

    Earlier, in August 2022, the Government reduced VAT on the first 250 kilowatt hours of electricity supplied to households, to 7.5 percent from 17.5 percent. The measure expired on September 30, 2023.

    This measure will now apply to all bills with an issue date falling between October 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024.
