As part of a project to reduce the administrative burden, the United Arab Emirates Federal Tax Authority is to implement 100 improvements, proposed by stakeholders, to its digital tax services platform, EmaraTax.
The recommendations were gathered during 24 interactive meetings and workshops, which drew about 500 participants. From these meetings, a total of 589 proposals were put forward, which were whittled down to 100. 64 of these improvements have already been implemented, the FTA said, while the remainder are in progress.
The FTA said the changes will result in a 53 percent reduction in the number of required documents, a 55 percent reduction in data fields that should be completed, and a 77 percent reduction in service completion time.
