The Swiss Federal Tax Administration has reported that it exchanged financial account information with 110 countries this year, including newly with Kenya and Thailand.

Of these territories, 26 jurisdictions sent information to Switzerland but there was no reciprocal exchange, as the other territories either did not yet meet international requirements for confidentiality and data security (13) or voluntarily waived data delivery (13).

No data was exchanged with Russia this year either.

There are currently approximately 9,000 reporting financial institutions registered with the FTA (banks, trusts, insurance companies, etc.), which collected and submitted the data to the FTA. The FTA sent information on approximately 3.8 million financial accounts to the partner states and received information on approximately 3.5 million financial accounts.

Identification, account, and financial information is exchanged, including name, address, country of residence, and taxpayer identification number, as well as information on the reporting financial institution, account balance, and capital income.
