Global Daily Tax News, Taiwan Planning Tax Breaks For High-Tech Industry MSMEs, (Nov 15, 2024)
Taiwan's Government has said it will extend tax breaks to Taiwanese micro, small-, and medium-sized enterprises from next year.
At the Cabinet's weekly meeting, the Ministry for Economic Affairs provided a briefing on plans to improve the tax environment for MSMEs involved in high-tech industries, in particular to support them to branch out into international markets.
A statement posted following the meeting on the legislature's website said: "Starting from 2025, the government will invest TWD11.6bn (USD356m) to assist MSMEs with digital and net-zero transitions, as well as domestic and international channel development; provide loan and tax incentives as well as additional supporting measures such as credit guarantee inducements; and establish a one-stop service portal for MSMEs."
