    State Tax Day - Current, S.14, South Carolina—Tobacco Tax: New Taxes on Nicotine Vapor Products and Heat Not Burn Products Discussed, (Sep 11, 2026)

    South Carolina announced that businesses responsible for filing and paying the new nicotine vapor products tax can register for an account beginning September 24, 2026, and must begin collecting the tax on October 1, 2026.

    South Carolina announced that businesses responsible for filing and paying the new nicotine vapor products tax can register for an account beginning September 24, 2026, and must begin collecting the tax on October 1, 2026.

    In addition, the announcement discusses the new tax on cigarettes for heating, commonly referred to as Heat Not Burn (HNB) products. Distributors can order HNB Tax Stamps beginning September 24, 2026.

    For both taxes, which were created by Act 234 (TAXDAY, 2026/06/08, S.14), the announcement also covers the applicable rates and reporting requirements.
