The FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau has announced that the Department of Defense has granted conditional approvals for certain foreign-produced routers and advanced robotic devices and that those routers and robotic devices are therefore exempted from the Commission’s “covered list” of equipment and services deemed to pose a national security risk.

Specifically, the bureau said in a public notice in WC docket 18-89, ET docket 21-232, and EA docket 21-233 that conditional approvals and exemptions had been granted to the Husqvarna AB 305v IQ, 310v IQ, 420v IQ, and 440v IQ robotic platforms; ASUS Computer International’s RT Router Series, ROG GT Series, ROG Strix GS Series, TUF Gaming Series, ExpertWiFi Series, ZenWiFi Mesh Series, 5G MiFi Series, repeaters, and wireless access points; and Comtrend Corp.’s GRG4366u, VG-8043u, PBL-6201, and NL3131 wireless routers.
