Dealers will replace the steering column control module as needed.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling about 129,313 2023-2024 Ram 1500 vehicles because the turn signal self-canceling feature may not function properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, Lamps, Reflective devices, and Associated Equipment. Turn signals that do not function properly may fail to indicate the driver's intention to change vehicle direction, increasing the risk of a crash. This issue has also prompted Chrysler to recall about 4,961 MOPAR steering column control modules with part numbers 68545657AA and 68545658AA (NHTSA Recall Notices, Nos. 24V729 and 24E082, Report receipt date: Oct. 1, 2024).

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and replace the steering column control module as necessary, free of charge. Dealers will repurchase modules that are not installed on a vehicle. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 29, 2024.

Contact information. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's numbers for these recalls are A1B (for the vehicles) and A2B (for the steering column control modules). Owners also may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
