Health Law Daily Wrap Up, LAW FIRM NEWS—Health, healthcare and regulatory practices drive lateral hiring activity, (Aug 7, 2026)

Law firms expanded healthcare, life sciences, regulatory, product liability, and related practices through a series of partner and attorney additions across key U.S. markets.

Goldberg Segalla. Goldberg Segalla added Nicholas M. Minerva to its Workers’ Compensation practice group in Garden City. Minerva brings trial and litigation experience representing insurers, employers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation matters throughout New York. His practice includes hearings, trials, appeals, settlements, and counseling on compensability, causation, exposure assessment, and suspected insurance fraud.

Goldberg Segalla also added John E. Lienert to its Toxic Tort and Environmental Law practices in Philadelphia. Lienert has nearly 20 years of litigation experience, including more than 13 years focused on toxic tort and asbestos personal injury defense, representing manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, and premises owners in complex multiparty matters. He has served as co-national coordinating counsel for an industrial equipment manufacturer and has substantial jury trial experience.

Goldberg Segalla also added Bradley E. Michalowski to its Product Liability practice group in Chicago. Michalowski represents manufacturers of consumer, automotive, and food and beverage products in product liability and complex civil litigation matters. His experience includes litigation strategy, discovery, trial preparation, and evaluating liability, causation, and damages through analysis of contracts, medical records, and digital communications.

Fisher Phillips LLP. Fisher Phillips expanded its New Jersey office with the addition of partners Gina Casale and Christopher Turano. Casale advises and defends employers in employment litigation, administrative proceedings, and workplace compliance matters, including discrimination, wage and hour, disability accommodation, and leave-related claims. Turano represents private-sector and public-entity clients in employment litigation, including discrimination, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and restrictive covenant disputes, and has tried cases in state and federal courts.

King & Spalding. King & Spalding added Troy Barsky as a partner on its Healthcare team within the Government Matters and Regulation practice group in Washington, D.C., and Denver. Barsky advises healthcare providers, health systems, technology companies, and manufacturers on healthcare fraud and abuse, Medicare and Medicaid law, government investigations, and healthcare transactions. Before entering private practice, he served at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, including as director of the Division of Technical Payment Policy.

Husch Blackwell. Husch Blackwell added partners Benjamin Perry and Lauren Watson, along with associate Evan Yahng, to its Data Privacy & Cybersecurity practice. Perry, based in Nashville, will co-lead the practice and advises on data privacy, cybersecurity, AI governance, regulatory compliance, and incident response matters. Watson counsels clients on privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, biometric privacy, and data governance issues, including compliance with evolving state and federal requirements.
