Dionne Lomax, a former trial attorney at the Department of Justice Antitrust Division, will join Mintz Levin as a member, the firm recently announced. Lomax, who was most recently a partner at Vinson & Elkins, will be based in the firm’s Washington D.C. office.

Lomax has an extensive background in antitrust and trade regulation law, with a particularly strong emphasis in the health care, medical device and pharmaceutical industries. She has represented clients before the Justice Department and the FTC in connection with mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other commercial engagements. She counsels and represents clients engaged in litigation, international mergers and premerger notification filings. In addition to representing clients in the health care, medical device and pharmaceutical industries, Lomax has represented and advised clients in a number of other industries including energy, technology and food manufacturing.

During her tenure at the Justice Department, Lomax conducted a variety of civil merger and non-merger investigations. Her practice included reviewing Hart-Scott-Rodino filings; conducting witness interviews and depositions, drafting Second Requests and subpoenas, developing case strategies, and preparing cases for trial.

Lomax received a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and received her B.B.A. in Finance from Howard University. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Antitrust Section, Health Care Committee, and serves on the boards of several philanthropic organizations.

“As dynamic change and consolidation continues across the health care industry, antitrust issues are increasingly becoming more prevalent and complex,” said Bruce D. Sokler, Chair of Mintz Levin’s Antitrust Section. “Dionne’s wealth of experience further strengthens our long-standing capabilities in this important area. We are delighted to have her joining the Firm.”
