Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. has been confirmed by the Senate to be a judge on the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska. Rossiter was nominated by President Obama a year ago and confirmed by a vote of 90-0.
Rossiter spent more than 30 years in private practice at the law firm Fraser Stryker PC LLO in Omaha, where he was a partner/shareholder for much of that time, and a member of the firm’s management committee for the last five years. Rossiter’s work at Fraser Stryker focused on labor and employment law, including ERISA litigation and matters before the National Labor Relations Board, according to his firm biography.
Before entering private practice, Rossiter clerked for two judges on the U.S. District Court for the District of Nebraska, the Hon. Albert G. Schatz, and the Hon. C. Arlen Beam (currently a senior judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit). Rossiter did his undergraduate work at Purdue University and earned a law degree from Creighton University School of Law, where he later held an adjunct faculty post.
