A hearing to examine how cyber insurance can boost the cyber resilience of U.S. critical infrastructure will be held on Thursday by the House Homeland Security Committee’s cybersecurity and infrastructure protection subcommittee, subcommittee Chairman Andrew Garbarino (R., N.Y.) announced today.

“If expectations for coverage are set, cyber insurance has the potential to be a promising aid for organizational recovery. I look forward to hearing from our witnesses on how we can help owners and operators protect the infrastructure underpinning our national security and economy, ensuring critical infrastructure entities have as much help as possible at their most vulnerable moments,” Rep. Garbarino said.

The hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Room 310 of the Cannon House Office Building. It will be livestreamed on the Homeland Security Committee’s website. Witnesses have not been announced.
