    The US Internal Revenue Service has announced that taxpayers may now file Form 8,898 digitally.

    Taxpayers can now file the Statement for Individuals Who Begin or End Bona Fide Residence in a US Territory using the IRS Digital Mobile Application Format (DMAF).

    The IRS said, "Many of these submissions originate from outside the 50 states and mailing these forms to ensure timely receipt may require extra effort. Using this format will provide taxpayers with:

    • Paperless option to file Form 8898;

    • A faster and easier submission process;

    • Guaranteed timely receipt; and

    • Reduced burden."

    "There is no need to submit a paper copy to the IRS, and the filer can download or print a copy of what was submitted," the agency added.

    The form can be filed through the IRS website by finding Form 8,898 in the list of mobile-friendly forms, under the 'Find Forms and Instructions' page.
