Dealers will replace a portion of the frame.
Pedego Electric Bikes has recalled about 400 Fat Tire Trikes due to fall and laceration hazards. The aluminum trike frame can develop a hairline fracture near a weld, which may cause the tubes to separate. This poses a risk of falls and injuries (CPSC Recall Notice, No. 26-152 (Dec. 18, 2025)).
Incidents and injuries. Pedego has received 16 reports of frames breaking, including one incident involving a leg laceration.
Product description. The recalled product is the Pedego Fat Tire Trike, an adult three-wheeled electric tricycle made of aluminum. It was sold in matte black and features a rectangular label on the downtube near the front of the frame with the word “Pedego” printed on it.
The recalled trikes were manufactured in China and sold nationwide and online at PedegoElectricBikes.com between March 2024 and March 2025 for $3,500 to $4,000. They were imported by Pedego, LLC, of Fountain View, California.
Remedy. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled trikes and contact Pedego to schedule a free repair. The remedy involves replacing a section of the frame, which will be installed by a Pedego dealer at no cost. Consumers must complete a registration form on Pedego’s recall page before arranging the repair.
