The firm is offering a $150 credit for use at one of the Solo Brands.

IcyBreeze Cooling LLC has issued a recall for approximately 22,600 IcyBreeze Buddy portable misting fans due to a fire hazard. The company reports that the fans can overheat while charging, potentially igniting and posing a fire risk (CPSC Recall Notice, No. 25-468 (Sept. 18, 2025)).

Incidents and injuries. There have been seven reports of the fans overheating, including two incidents that resulted in fire. No injuries have been reported.

Product description. The recalled product is the IcyBreeze Buddy, a battery-operated portable misting fan with a 1.5-liter water tank. It can operate using AC power or a 10,000 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery, providing up to seven hours of outdoor use. The fan is marked with the “ICYBREEZE” logo on both the fan and its base and is available in slate blue, gray, and seafoam colors.

The units were sold online at icybreeze.com and Amazon.com between November 2023 and August 2024 for about $150. They were manufactured in China.

Remedy. Consumers are advised to stop using the product immediately. To receive a refund in the form of a $150 credit for use at one of the Solo Brands, consumers should visit www.icybreeze.com/buddy-recall-information and complete an online form, including a photo showing the power cord has been cut. The misting fan should then be disposed of according to local hazardous waste guidelines, as lithium-ion batteries require special handling.

    Customer contact.
