Chile's Internal Revenue Service has announced an agreement to meet on a monthly basis with representatives of the Chilean Bar Association.

The meetings are intended to foster engagement between tax professionals and the tax agency to address industry concerns.

During their first meeting, they addressed various topics relevant to both entities, focusing on the process of declaring and paying Inheritance and Gift Tax, petitions, and administrative procedures before the tax agency, among other things.

The tax agency said the two sides agreed to meet during January to review any issues or aspects that the legal profession wishes to address in relation to preparing 2026 income tax returns.

The tax agency's acting Director, Carolina Saravia, said, "These types of meetings are fundamental to jointly contributing to facilitating taxpayer compliance by addressing, through monthly meetings, topics that the Bar Association may raise based on its daily work."

"In this way, we can identify opportunities for operational and instructional improvements, among other aspects, based on the experience of the industry, while also contributing, through talks and training on topics of interest to them, to a better understanding of tax regulations."
