Brazil will begin accepting applications from companies to take part in the cooperative compliance program, Confia.

Under the initial pilot phase of the program, a total of 15 companies will be selected to participate this year, with applications being welcomed through the e-CAC platform between March 18 and April 5, 2024.

The Confia program was established through RFB Ordinance No. 387 of December 13, 2023. It is intended to improve engagement between the tax agency and large corporations on complex tax matters.

The tax agency has released two instructional videos on how to apply for the program, with English and Spanish subtitles, which are available on the Government's website.
