The Canada Competition Bureau has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in order to further cooperate in combating white-collar crime and illegal economic activity affecting both businesses and consumers, the two agencies have announced. These illegal activities include bid rigging and price fixing activities by cartels and organized crime groups, mass marketing fraud, misleading representations of products or services, deceptive marketing practices, and other conduct prohibited by the Competition Act.

The two agencies will share information, resources and support to coordinate their enforcement activities. The MOU specifies that both agencies will take all reasonable measures to preserve confidentiality and security in their investigations.
