Antigua and Barbuda's cabinet has decided that taxpayers' eligibility to tax concessions will be rescinded from November 30. Those wishing to retain tax privileges will be required to reapply from December 1, 2025.

The Government said the decision is intended to ensure that existing concessions are aligned with current economic priorities, sustainable development goals, and investment strategies. It said the decision "allows Cabinet to reassess which sectors or projects truly need support and which can operate without tax incentives."

The territory has indicated that tax incentives will be granted only where projects bring "real economic value, such as employment, innovation, or real development", and the Government said tax expenditures should be aligned with long-term national goals, such as green energy, tourism diversification, health, and education development.
