She was blacklisted, according to many reports, because she made statements in favor of diversity in the force.

According to multiple reports, U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Shoshana Chatfield, the only woman on NATO’s Military Committee, was fired over the past weekend. She was also the first woman to lead the U.S. Naval War College in Rhode Island and a highly decorated Naval officer. Her removal followed closely on the heels of the removal of several national security officials, including Gen. Timothy Haugh, who was commander of the U.S. Cyber Command and director of the National Security Agency, and Gen. James Slife, who was vice chief of staff of the Air Force.

Chatfield joins two other top female officers who have been fired since Trump’s second inauguration—Admiral Lisa Franchetta and Admiral Linda Fagan.

According to the Navy’s official website, which currently still lists her, Chatfield’s personal awards include the Distinguished Service Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Legion of Merit (two awards), Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Army Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy Achievement Medal and various unit awards.
