The FTC will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a public symposium, featuring speeches and panel discussions examining the Commission’s history and future, on November 7, 2014, in Washington, D.C. A detailed agenda for the event, along with logistical details, will be posted on the Commission’s website in the near future, the agency announced.

In addition to posting information about its centennial on its website, the agency is inviting people to share the experiences they have had with the FTC over the years. Instructions for submitting a “FTC Moment” in video, in audio, or in writing are posted here.

The FTC works for consumers to prevent fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices and to provide information to help spot, stop, and avoid them.
