The FDA announced its compilation of 2025 updates to its Susceptibility Test Interpretive Criteria web page, including changes to recognized standards and drug-specific criteria.

The Food and Drug Administration issued a notice announcing the annual compilation of updates to its Susceptibility Test Interpretive Criteria (STIC) web page, as required by the 21st Century Cures Act. The STIC web page, established in 2017, identifies recognized antimicrobial susceptibility test interpretive criteria and is regularly updated to reflect new or revised standards, supporting streamlined premarket review of testing devices. The notice compiles 2025 updates, including changes in recognition of certain standards and revisions to drug-specific interpretive criteria based on standards development organizations and FDA determinations. The FDA also invites public comment on these updates and will consider submitted information when evaluating future changes to recognized standards and criteria (Notice, 91 FR 25894, May 12, 2026).
