    The OBBBA prohibited Medicaid funding of Planned Parenthood for one year.

    The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), signed by President Donald Trump on July 4, 2025, prohibited Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood facilities for one year. After surviving repeated court challenges, the provision expired July 4, 2026, and Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood has resumed. However, with conservative groups and members of Congress pushing for an extension, Planned Parenthood might not be out of the woods long term.
