The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore has confirmed the Government intends to provide a one-off Property Tax (PT) rebate of 15 percent for Owner-Occupied HDB flats, and 10 percent, capped at SGD500, for Owner-Occupied private residential properties in 2026.

The measure is intended to reduce the impact of an increase to property tax rates.

Owner-occupiers living in three-room and larger HDB flats will see an average PT increase of SGD2 to SGD3 per month, after the PT rebate. All one- and two-room HDB owner-occupiers will continue to pay no PT.

Half of private property owner-occupiers will see a PT increase of less than SGD6 per month, after the PT rebate. The rest will see higher PT increases, affecting higher-value private properties.

All property owners will receive their 2026 property tax assessments from December 2025, with payment due by January 31, 2026.
