Health Law Daily Wrap Up, PHYSICIAN FEE SCHEDULE—FINAL RULES: CMS makes corrections to 2025 PFS final rule, (May 19, 2025)

CMS issued a document that corrects technical and typographical errors in the CY 2025 Physician Fee Schedule.

The final rule appeared in the December 9, 2024, Federal Register titled “Medicare and Medicaid Programs; CY 2025 Payment Policies under the Physician Fee Schedule and Other Changes to Part B Payment and Coverage Policies; Medicare Shared Savings Program Requirements; Medicare Prescription Drug Inflation Rebate Program; and Medicare Overpayments.” The effective date was January 1, 2025. The document also corrects a technical error in the final rule correcting an amendment that appeared in the December 30, 2024, Federal Register titled “Medicare Program: Appeal Rights for Certain Changes in Patient Status and Changes to the Medicare Claims and Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage Determination Appeals Procedures; Correcting Amendment” (Final Rule, 90 Fed. Reg. 20801 (May 16, 2025)).

Dates. The corrections and correcting amendment are effective May 16, 2025. The CY 2025 PFS final rule corrections indicated in this document were applicable beginning January 1, 2025.
