Chetty will be joining the firm as a partner, and brings her entire team from Vani Chetty Competition Law—South Africa’s first competition law boutique—to Baker & McKenzie.

Chetty focuses her practice on transaction and advisory competition law issues, and provides services to a range of local and international clients in the chemicals, commercial property, construction, corporate, and financial services sectors.

“Vani is not only a recognized expert in competition law but has a strong international client base, which she has built single-handedly,” stated the firm’s Global Antitrust and Competition practice group chair, Samantha Mobley. “We are excited that she will be joining our team and providing strategic leadership to help our clients expand their operations in South Africa and the rest of the continent.”
