Franchise and distribution lawyer Elliott R. Ginsburg has been named partner and shareholder of W. Michael Garner, P.A. in Minneapolis, according to a January 6 announcement.
Ginsburg has litigated cases involving fraud, breach of contract, statutory violations, trademark and service mark issues, and violations of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing. He has resolved numerous disputes between franchise and franchisors and distributors and suppliers and has helped clients recover damages, get out of franchise agreements, obtain releases from covenants not to compete, cure alleged defaults, and resolve trademark matters. Ginsburg has gained experience in a number of industries, including the hotel, food, energy, automobile, and medical.
He also provides representation to craft brewers, beer distributors, and others in allied fields, and currently serves on the Fair State Brewing Cooperative’s Board of Directors.
A graduate of Carleton College (B.A.), the London School of Economics and Political Science (M. Sc.), and University of Minnesota Law School (J.D.), Ginsburg has spoken at the ABA Forum on Franchising and is a topic and article editor of the Forum’s Franchise Law Journal.
