Andrea Zulli has joined Covington & Burling LLP’s EU competition group. He will be based in the firm’s Brussels office and will take a particular focus on EU competition in the life sciences sector.

Prior to joining Covington, Zulli was the head of the Italian antitrust and competition group at a leading international practice. His practice encompasses all aspects of EU, international, and Italian competition law, including abuses of a dominant position, antitrust compliance, cartels and other restrictive practices, and merger control. He received his J.D. from L.U.I.S.S. University in Rome, and his LL.M. in EU and Competition law from the University of Stockholm.

“The pharmaceutical industry continues to face a very specific set of challenges at the cross-section of competition, regulatory and IP law, and is also undergoing a new global consolidation wave, which raises complex merger control issues,” stated managing partner of Covington’s Brussels office, Peter Bogaert. “Andrea brings a wealth of competition experience that deepens our expertise in these areas that are vitally important to our global clients.”

“The global standing of the firm, and particularly of its leading regulatory practices, is a tremendous draw for me,” Zulli said. “The firm has a top tier global antitrust practice, including an exciting proposition in Europe, and I am very much looking forward to being part of the team.”

Covington & Burling LLP is an international law firm with over 800 attorneys in 10 offices across the globe, including Beijing, Brussels, London, New York, San Diego, San Francisco, Seoul, Shanghai, Silicon Valley, and Washington, D.C.
