    New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has nominated Michael J. Garcia to serve as an Associate Judge on the state’s highest court—the New York State Court of Appeals. Garcia previously served as a U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and as Assistant Secretary for Immigration and Customs Enforcement at the Department of Homeland Security, Governor Cuomo announced.

    Garcia currently serves as a litigation partner in Kirkland & Ellis LLP’s New York Office. He leads the firm’s Government, Regulatory and Internal Investigations practice, representing large financial institutions, corporations, and business executives in complex regulatory transactions, securities litigation, internal investigations, and general commercial litigation.
