International franchise attorneys Victoria Hobbs and Graeme Payne will join Bird & Bird as partners in the London office, according to a May 5 announcement. The two previously served on the franchising team at Field Fisher Waterhouse.

Hobbs joined Field Fisher Waterhouse as a franchise litigation assistant in 2000 and most recently headed the firm’s Franchise Dispute Resolution Team. In addition to significant U.K. disputes resolution experience, she has advised clients on disputes arising out of international franchise roll-out programs and has provided strategic dispute avoidance advice.

In 12 years on the Field Fisher Waterhouse franchising team, Payne has advised a variety of domestic and international clients, ranging from individual entrepreneurs and early-stage ventures to small and medium enterprises and multinationals in the retail, leisure, food and beverage, and healthcare sectors.

"We are very pleased to welcome Graeme and Victoria to the firm," said David Kerr, CEO of Bird & Bird. "There are clear synergies between the nature and type of clients that they have worked for and Bird & Bird’s areas of industry and practice focus. Their appointments will considerably strengthen the firm’s existing expertise in international franchising and multi-channel strategies in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia."

Bird & Bird is an international law firm with more than 900 lawyers located in 23 offices worldwide.
