The American Antitrust Institute (AAI) announced today that it has named John E. Kwoka and Joshua P. Davis to fill two vacancies on its Board of Directors. The Board has also elected two new officers. The additions and elections are part of the AAI's transition when Bert Foer steps down from the AAI presidency and the Board of Directors at the end of this month after 17 years of service. Vice President Diana Moss will become the new AAI President and also step down from the Board. According to the AAI, the transition includes a greater separation of governance from management, such that employees will not serve on the Board.

New AAI Director John E. Kwoka is the Neal F. Finnegan Distinguished Professor of Economics at Northeastern University, where he teaches industrial organization, antitrust, and regulatory economics. Prof. Kwoka has written and lectured extensively on issues of market concentration, mergers and merger remedies, promotional practices, privatization, price cap regulation, professional practice restrictions, and vertical integration in numerous industry settings. He is currently an AAI Senior Fellow.

New AAI Director Joshua P. Davis is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Professor, and Director of the Center for Law and Ethics at the University of San Francisco School of Law. Prof. Davis' scholarly research focuses on class actions, antitrust, ethics, free speech, and jurisprudence. As director of the Center for Law and Ethics, he leads panels, organizes symposia, and undertakes research exploring ethics in the law. He is currently an AAI Senior Fellow.

Additionally, the Board of Directors elected Director Eric Cramer to serve as Vice Chairman and Director Greg Gundlach to serve as Treasurer.

"The AAI Board of Directors began with the three founders in 1998 and has grown to include seven of the top practitioners and academics in the antitrust community," said Chairman of the Board Robert Skitol. “We focused on potential directors who would further strengthen the Board’s breadth of background and talent, and we were delighted to add these two outstanding individuals."
