Global Daily Tax News, India Launches Income Tax Act Review, (Oct 11, 2024)

On October 7, 2024, the Indian Government announced the formation of a new committee to comprehensively review the Income-tax Act, 1961.

The aim of the review is to make the Act concise and clear, to reduce disputes, litigation, and provide greater tax certainty, the Government said.

Indian authorities are inviting input on specific provisions through a new webpage created on the Income Tax Department's website.
