    Cybersecurity Policy Report, Hearing Scheduled to Consider CISA, ONCD Nominations, (May 29, 2025)

    The nominations of Sean Cairncross to lead the Office of the National Cyber Director (ONCD) and Sean Plankey to be director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency will be considered at a June 5 hearing of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.

    Mr. Cairncross, an attorney at the Republican National Committee, worked in the first Trump administration as a senior adviser. The White House nominated him to lead ONCD in February (CPR, Feb. 12).

    Mr. Plankey, who held cybersecurity positions in the first Trump administration, was nominated to be CISA’s director in March (CPR, March 11).

    The hearing is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. in Room 342 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
