HHS, through SAMHSA, issued its monthly Federal Register notice listing laboratories and instrumented initial testing facilities certified to conduct federal workplace urine drug testing, noting that no facilities are currently certified for oral fluid testing and that one laboratory has voluntarily suspended its certification.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) issued its monthly notice identifying laboratories and Instrumented Initial Testing Facilities (IITFs) that are certified by HHS to conduct federal workplace drug testing under the Mandatory Guidelines for urine and oral fluid testing. The notice explains that only facilities meeting strict certification, performance testing, and inspection requirements may perform drug and specimen validity testing for federal agencies, and that suspended or withdrawn facilities are removed from the list. As of this notice, no laboratories are certified to conduct oral fluid drug testing, while one IITF and multiple laboratories remain certified for urine testing. The notice also reports that one laboratory, Omega Laboratories, Inc., has voluntarily suspended its certification effective March 19, 2026 (Notice, 91 Fed. Reg. 16718 (Apr. 2, 2026)).
