The Securities Division of the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (Division) announced on March 1, 2013, the availability of its new E-File System for online electronic franchise document filing. The system allows franchise applicants to file new franchise applications, franchise renewals, franchise amendments, and franchise reapplications via the internet, eliminating the need to make paper submissions to the Division.

The E-file System is now open to all franchise applicants. The Division encourages all franchise applicants to begin using the E-File System immediately in lieu of submitting physical applications. In so doing, the Division expects that applicants will receive a response in a shorter amount of time, as the Division will be able to reduce the amount of time spent processing applications.

The E-File System may be accessed from the Securities Division website under the “Franchises” tab.

The Division has provided “How to get started” and “Electronic Franchise Filing FAQs” for those seeking details on how to use the online system. Please direct any questions to Cheryl Pearson at (360)902-8762.
