DEA revoked the registration of an Oklahoma dentist, after finding that his state controlled-substances registration had expired, leaving him without the authority required under federal law to maintain a DEA registration.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) issued a final order revoking the DEA registration of an Oklahoma dentist, after determining that he no longer had authority to handle controlled substances in Oklahoma. The agency issued an Order to Show Cause on November 24, 2025, alleging that the dentist lacked the state authorization required to maintain a DEA registration and notifying him of his right to request a hearing. The dentist did not request a hearing, and the DEA therefore found him in default, treating the factual allegations in the order as admitted. According to the agency’s findings, the dentist’s Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs registration expired on October 31, 2023, and remained inactive, leaving him without authority under Oklahoma law to prescribe, dispense, or administer controlled substances. The DEA explained that both the Controlled Substances Act and longstanding agency precedent require practitioners to maintain state authority to handle controlled substances as a condition of holding a DEA registration. Because the dentist lacked the required Oklahoma authorization, the agency concluded that he was ineligible to maintain his DEA registration. The order revokes DEA Certificate of Registration No. AA1668803, denies any pending renewal or modification applications, and denies any future applications for additional registration in Oklahoma (Notice, 91 Fed. Reg. 42757 (July 10, 2026)).

Dates. This Order is effective August 10, 2026.
