The U.S. Department of Labor’s Administrative Review Board (ARB) has announced an overhaul of its website. The ARB is an independent decision-making body with jurisdiction to consider and decide appeals from final decisions of the Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division, authorized representatives of the Administrator, and Administrative Law Judges. ARB decisions are final decisions of DOL, subject to discretionary review by the Secretary of Labor.
Changes to FAQ, etc. According to DOL, the Administrative Review Board’s website updates will improve workers’ ability to file, track, and process cases, while also allowing the board to act with more transparency.
Improvements identified include streamlined navigation features; improved access to research and guidance; and a frequently asked questions page with new insights on key topics such as submitting new evidence, finding case status updates, and responding to different motions.
“In taking these steps, we can help demystify the law and improve efficiency in the Department’s Administrative Review Board,” said Deputy Secretary of Labor Keith Sonderling.
“While we can't simplify these statutes, we can make it easier for workers, particularly those not represented by counsel, to understand the administrative steps they must follow in pursuing their cases before the Administrative Review Board,” said Randel Johnson, Chair and Chief Judge of the Administrative Review Board.
